“Be My Penguin,” An Original Poem
“Sitting on top of glaciers/We would watch the dawn/and sing each other love songs/All day and night long”
Somewhere in polar regions
Far far far away
Penguins dance around
On the ice all day
Hugging all year round
They sing each other songs
They talk about their love
And that their love is strong
If we were also penguins,
We would slide in snow
We would dance around
We would snowballs throw
Sitting on top of glaciers
We would watch the dawn
And sing each other love songs
All day and night long
But you don’t even know me
You don’t understand
And even when you see me
You think I’m just your friend
But I just want to stop you
Tell you “you’re the best”
Ask you to be my penguin
And bring you to my chest
If we were also penguins,
It would not be so hard
I would just entertain you
And bring you close to heart
We would just dance together
Watch stars while eating fish
And I would say “I love you”
Translated to penguin-ish
If we were also penguins,
We would slide in snow
We would dance around
We would snowballs throw
Sitting on top of glaciers
We would watch the dawn
And sing each other love songs
All day and night long
